Readathon: Update 3

12:30 PM Update (Monica): Ooh, good choice on my part picking a book I could read in an hour. It filled me with a sense of accomplishment! It also filled me with a sense of relief, with the realization that no matter WHAT happens to me in life, at least I will never be a fifteen-year-old whose parents lied about my cancer and didn't bother to tell me I was probably going to die.

Which is certainly a load off my back!

I'm going to be posting real, actual, lengthy reviews of all the books I'm reading today (and I'm sure Shel will too), but not right now. Right now I'm too flush with excitement over my first book, and am ready to start the next one!

And what do we have next, friends? Why, it's The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness! I realize everyone and their brother has read this sucker already, but somehow it slipped my radar. Obviously, today of all days is perfect for remedying this serious error. ;)

Keep on reading!

  2. Oh, good, that makes me feel a little bit better for not having read it yet. ;)

  3. Oh, Sarah. You pain me. I reviewed both it and it's sequel.

They're wonderfully engaging books. Of course, said engagement also involves a high rate of suffering on your part as the reader.
