Shel: #Readathon Update One

Good morning other readathon-ers and cheerleaders!

I have to admit it's been a slow start to the morning, mainly due to two evil beasties who are fond of chasing one another up and down stairs and onto my bed had replaced my adorable, somewhat-calm cats.

Kitty high-jinks ensued.  But that's okay.  Because I'm going to be awake for 24-hours.  I'll be able to cause my own high-jinks within that time.  Hahaha!

After I type this, I'm going to start in on the Columbus dispatch.  Then I'm going to hit up some picturebooks I have to read for my class:

Pretty Salma: A Little Red Riding Hood Story from AfricaSquids Will be Squids: Fresh Morals, Beastly Fables (Picture Puffin)The True Story of the Three Little Pigs by A. Wolf (Picture Puffin)Cinder Edna

I want to get that out of the way before my brain becomes addled.

I'm also making sure to start out with both coffee and water.  I figure if the caffeine won't keep me awake the need to pee will. I'm a thinker like that.

Happy reading to you all!

  5. Traditional read-a-thon blessing:

    May the bookshelf be there to greet you.
    May all the books appeal.
    May the fridge be full of tasty snacks;
    the words fall soft upon your eyes and until the read-a-thon ends,
    may you always hold a book in the palm of your hand.

    Good luck today!
